April 27, 2020, Home Owners Association message regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus
The Board and Administration of Las Gaviotas wish to extend our sincere thanks to all of the homeowners who have helped to keep our community safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. A special thanks go out to homeowners and managers who have discontinued home rentals. Because of your actions, we reduced our exposure to the virus.
As you may know, the Mexican Federal Government recently extended its prohibition of non-essential activities through the end of May 2020.
At its recent meeting, the Las Gaviotas Board voted to continue to follow the Mexican Federal Government guidelines. As such, the guards have been instructed to continue to turn away housekeepers, contractors, repairmen, and other nonessential service providers through the end of May 2020. Emergency repairs or other exceptions must continue to be cleared in advance by Administration. The Administration also has been instructed to NOT issue any home repair or remodeling permits (blue sheets) until further notice.
These restrictions will continue to be enforced by our security guards. This policy will be re-evaluated weekly through May 30th, 2020.
Additionally, common areas will remain closed to everyone through May 30, 2020.
This includes the Tennis Court, Children’s Park, Clubhouse, Shuffleboard, Gym, and Computer Room (other than to retrieve mail), public restrooms. The Federal Government has closed access to all beaches in Mexico, including the beach at Las Gaviotas. Local police have been monitoring compliance on a daily basis.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
