Need tourist assistance while traveling in Baja?
Dial 078 from any public, private or cell phone to connect to the tourist assistance hotline run by the Secretary of Tourism for Baja California. Their operations center is staffed with bilingual personnel ready to assist you with:
The personnel will notify the U.S. Consulate if necessary so that you may obtain their assistance. The hotline is also available to help in case you are involved in an auto accident or your car is stolen. They direct you on how to fill out the appropriate paperwork. HDI’s and ACE’s adjusters also help you with this process.
What are the hours of operation?
The hotline is available from 8am – 8pm Monday through Friday and 9am – 1pm Saturday and Sunday. During the high season (March – September) the hotline has extended hours of operation.
Does the hotline work in Baja Sur too?
Yes, the hotline works in Baja Norte, Baja Sur and nationwide.
Check with your cell phone provider regarding if you have service into Baja. If so, you will want to ask the procedures to dial numbers if there are any.
